Ben Harding’s Voice II (2012)
Peeler Art Center Gallery, DePauw University
This installation was the second iteration of Ben Harding’s Voice. In this version, I chose to contextualize the imagery and leave the text as it appeared in the original Davy Crockett Manual (1836). I made the pages larger than life and extended part of the image off the page. I also imagined a story for Ben Harding and added a variety of objects that related to the invented tale. There are all kinds of visual relations between the abstract forms representational imagery on the page and in space.
