Worthington Hooker Elementary Playground

In 2005 Nancy Bowen created an art work integrated into a new playground at the Worthington Hooker Elementary School in New Haven, CT. Entitled “Everything in the World” , the piece featured stone and handmade ceramic tiles set into subtly colored industrial concrete. The tiles each had an image glazed in black against a field of bright color. The images included objects from the natural sciences, humanities and the arts. Their arrangement and bright colors called to mind a game board and lent a whimsical air to the playground.
